Gaurav wrote, directed and edited, Making a Mark, a short film that features a cast and crew of predominantly Indian descent. The short has no spoken dialog and communicates instead through purely cinematic techniques, music and Bharatanatyam, a classical Indian dance form.
In December of 2014, Gaurav joined a Cultural Intelligence study abroad group from Seattle University in Guatemala to shoot and produce a short film. The film highlights the broad range of organizations visited and shows how student perspectives evolved over the 10-day immersive.
Gaurav is writing, directing and editing a film inspired by NASA's CineSpace short film competition. The film suggests that, as we travel to space and develop new civilizations as early as 2025, we have a novel opportunity to learn from the experiences of oppressed and marginalized communities to simultaneously establish a more peaceful, harmonious and equitable future on Mars and Earth.
